LOOKING BACK ON COLLEEN: Colleen was my Muse at that time. This is composed of six panels where each panel is treated somewhat differently which was similar to what Andy Warhol did with Marylin Monroe. The original panels were each 30"x24" which equal 90x48" when placed together but my past Art Deale, Tome Summers, sold off four and kept two. I trade a painting to Tom for one of them. The goal was to capture Colleen's great figure by using the isolate shapes made from the shadows and highlights that fell across the contours of her body.
LOOKING BACK ON COLLEEN: Colleen was my Muse at that time. This is composed of six panels where each panel is treated somewhat differently similar what Andy Warhol did with Marylin Monroe, This was based on a painting I did of Colleen in 1974 then I turned into six abstract panels in 1978. I had first did a photograph using a flood light to create strong shadows and highlights. This allowed me to find the isolated shapes of shadows and lights hat I wanted to emphasize to capture her beautiful form, muscular, sexy and feminine.
In the original painting each panel was 30"x24" so when placed together it stood 90"x48". My past Art Dealer, Tom Summers, broken it up against my wishes. He sold four panels and kept two and then I trade another painting for one of the panels for my private collection.
